Verdite Carvings from Africa

What is Verdite?

Verdite is a semi-precious stone, over 3,500 million years old. It's also called The Green Stone of Africa, and Africa's Green Gold.

The only known sources of verdite are in southern Africa, mainly Zimbabwe, where the best quality deposits have been found.

The verdite stone has different hues and colours which accentuate the beauty of the finished artwork creations.

African carvings - Verdite Carving of a RhinocerosAlthough there are many beautiful african carvings created from many different types of materials, like wood and stone, we like the verdite carvings the most. The Rhinoceros verdite carving, in the photo, is our personal favourite!
